No matter your immigration status, whether you are here temporarily, or plan to make Canada your forever home, CCLET strongly believes that the more you know about your rights and freedoms, the more you are empowered to use them as tools to actively participate in Canada’s democratic processes, and make Canada a better, more inclusive place for all.
Our Newcomer Program offers free workshops for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners and newcomers to Canada, and is a great complement to Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programming. Our plain language, interactive workshops aim to provide newcomers with a better understanding of the rights guaranteed to them by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and prepare them for democratic engagement in Canada.
